Quick answers

Does swiping up delete? No. Swipe up shows the next random item; swipe down goes back.
How do I delete? Swipe left or tap the trash icon to move an item into the pending basket. It is deleted only after you confirm in the iOS system dialog. You can undo before that.
The app can't see my photos. Open iOS Settings › Inreel › Photos and allow access.
Is it really free? Yes. No ads, no subscriptions, no in-app purchases.
